Welcome.

These are the thoughts, illustrations, visions, pictures, and images that inspire me, inner dialogues, and conversations, or things that I've heard.

Postcard #8

Postcard #7

This postcard is done with both colored pencils and water soluble oil pastels.

Postcard #6

This is the second one in my Leg series I believe. It was done in water soluble oil pastels.

Postcard #5

This is the first in my series of Leg postcards that I started sending to my friend and artist Cina. We have decided to send each other postcards to try to get our artistic juices flowing again. Cina picked out the theme this time. I think I did 10 leg postcards in all. I like getting mail, especially mail that isn't asking me for money and it's even better if it's original art! This is from a reference photo I found of a bicyclist's legs on the internet. I added the bicycle in the background and colored it pink in tribute to my brother-in-law who likes to bicycle across Iowa, who happens to have a pink bike.

Postcard #4

Here's a pencil sketch of my son sleeping. I sent this one to his godfather. It's a pretty accurate drawing for him moving three or four times while I was drawing him, and I had to finish it without him at the end. Which I've been taught you really shouldn't do. But oh well.

Postcard #3

This postcard I sent to one of my best friends and my son's godmother. This is a view from one of my spots at Morningside Lake Park. I go here to seek God, to pray, and to sketch. I was sitting on the gravel road that people use to drop their boats in the water. This little lake is significant because the name Morningside is the name of the college that I graduated from. I can walk here from my house, and get a way and just sit in nature. It is such a blessing!

Postcard #2

Here's the second one that I did. This went to my son's godsister. I had promised her that I would send her some mail. This has scrapbooking paper, a watercolor ATC (Artist Trading Card), and a scrapbooking sticker.

Postcard #1

This was the start of my postcard project. This is a watercolor sketch of a caffeine free Pepsi can. I used a little artistic license in the wording of the can. I sent this to my grandmother-in-law.
